The carnival isn’t over in Farnham as communities either side of the Wey are getting in the mood to party.

Farnham will be a party town this Saturday with the Hale Carnival and Bourne Show taking place on the same day.

There’s a break with tradition in Hale this year as the 2pm Carnival Procession will begin the festivities with judging at 1.15pm at the school field.

The procession will end at the Green recreation ground for an afternoon and evening of fun with highlights including maypole dancing by Folly Hill School at 2.45pm and a dog show 15 minutes later.

Visitors can also expect Morris dancing, plenty of stalls and family activities, a fun fair and live music throughout the day on the CX Energy Music Stage.

Revellers can expect performances from The Kings Pond Shantymen, Late to the Party and 80s sensation Owen Paul ahead of the 10pm fireworks finale.

The party will begin a little bit earlier on Bourne Green with the Alder Valley Brass Band getting villagers warmed up before the show opens at 12.30pm.

Organisers have put together a packed itinerary of events with more than 70 stalls and highlights including a dog show, Punch and Judy performance, magic show, kids’ races and display of classic and vintage vehicles.

The WI will serve up tea, coffee and cakes in St Martin’s Hall while youngsters are in for a treat with inflatable rides and a climbing wall to conquer.

The fun will continue into the evening with Dexter Band and party predators TDMA raising the volume at The Big Bourne Bash, with tickets for the legendary shindig selling out within minutes.

The Bash and Show have also been a boon for charity with the Bourne WI, Farnham Foodbank, Hedgehogs and others receiving funds over the years.
