Waverley community overview and scrutiny committee member Victor Duckett said last month that the Hoppa service had been earmarked for a cut to its funding because it was "less essential" than other council-funded services.
But Mr Duckett's comments contradicted the council's earlier stance that all community services in Waverley could see their 2011/2012 grants cut by 10 per cent cut.
