DRUM Housing has agreed to put £500 to the cost of removing the debris left by fly tippers at Alexandra Park in Bordon.
The offer will take a little pressure off Bordon taxpayers, who were to foot the entire £5,000 bill for clearing away the items tipped, which included fridges and kitchen sinks.
At Monday nightÕs meeting of Whitehill Town CouncilÕs finance and policy committee, clerk Linda Tiley said the contribution would be a welcome gesture to help deal with the growing problem.
She said: ÒThere are only a few Drum Housing properties that back onto Alexandra Park, so this offer is very generous.
ÒWe have also asked the district council for a grant to help us with the removal of the products of fly tipping. EHDC officers came up to visit the site recently and they were absolutely horrified.Ó
