SHOP early for Christmas at Haslemere Museum’s Cards for Good Causes outlet – now open for business until December 14.

At the launch, town mayor councillor John Robini highlighted the great work done by the local charities represented in the shop.

He also praised the work of the Cards for Good Causes volunteers, reminding everyone that it is volunteers who keep things going in Haslemere.

Cards are on sale in aid of 36 charities, including Canine Partners, GUTS, The Fountain Centre and the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

This is the 26th anniversary of Cards for Good Causes in Haslemere and three of the original team are still volunteers.

They recall starting up with a small number of charities in the rather chilly environs of the Concourse Motor Showroom.

It was not until 2000 that Cards for Good Causes moved to a more comfortable home at Haslemere Museum.

Opening hours are 10am and 4.30pm, Monday to Saturday, until December 14. There will also be a special Sunday opening on December 1 to coincide with Haslemere Christmas Market.
