ST Andrew’s Infant School in Farnham celebrated China’s most important traditional festival – the Chinese New Year.
Pupils learnt about this special celebration and how the animals were chosen for each year by the emperor. They decorated plates showing the Year of the Rooster and made Chinese lanterns.
The Swallow Class learnt how to count to 10 in Mandarin and write numbers in Chinese.
Each class experienced drumming and joined in with the dragon dancing.
When asked if they enjoyed the day a child responded with, “this has been a brilliant day, the dragon was awesome”.
