LIPHOOK’S Millennium Centre has made several changes to its booking facilities.

The move has made it easier to pay for customers who can now use credit and debit cards, pay in cash or by cheque at both the centre as well as the parish council office on Midhurst Road.

Centre manager Gill Snedden said: “With the new card machines you can now make telephone card payments in advance and pick up your tickets for the event or the cinema on the night.

“We hope people will use this facility. By selling more tickets in advance, it will help us to provide the right number of volunteers for the evening.”

Gill is also appealing for volunteers to work behind the bar during cinema events or to help sell tickets before the screening starts.

The first film night of the year featured Love and Friendship, and a Bridget Jones’ Baby film and food night is being held on Friday, February 3, with Sully to be screened on Friday, March 3.

The parish council has "opted to tax VAT" so it can make much-needed maintenance and improvements to the facilities at the centre over the next two years.

The amphitheatre has been repaired and is a much-improved outdoor area for customers. The main hall floor was repaired and treated last August, so fitness classes and other users can safely continue to use it.

The Millennium Centre is staffed Monday to Thursday between 10am and 4pm, Fridays from 10am to 1pm, and can be called on 01428 723889.

The parish council office is open between 10am and 1pm (Monday to Friday). Call 01428 722988.
