BRAMSHOTT and Liphook parish councillors discussed the proposed closure of the side entrance at the Millennium Centre, which leads to the former Hampshire Police beat office.

Michael Croucher told the Liphook Millennium Centre mamangement committee that original plans included a key pad-operated mechanical barrier, which was rejected by Hampshire Constabulary, who preferred speedy access to their former office.

Centre manager Gill Snedden confirmed some motorists use the small car park area in front of the office at their convenience, while others frequently block the entrance and exit.

Mr Croucher explained the overflow car park at Sainsbury’s superstore has always been the official car park for users of the Millennium Centre, who can get a letter of authority from the centre’s manager confirming permission, should they be issued with a parking ticket.
