NINE members of Ceramicus group of Surrey and Hampshire potters are showing their work at Haslemere Museum this month.
The exhibitors incude Mike Bush, who has researched glazes extensively to complement his thrown wheel work, while Graham Ellerby fires with wood and uses the wood ash to create unique finishes.
Christiane Hayles incorporates her love of bugs in her hand-built work and Nigel Hobbs explores the art of Raku firing alongside his stoneware.
Simon Hunt creates porcelain and stoneware experiments with wood ash glazes and Veronica Jeans’ domestic ware is inspired by landscape.
Nina Pesket is intrigued by the surfaces and textures produced by different clays, slips and glazes while Tim Pilsbury has found his own “secret” way to enhance forms he throws on the wheel. Finally Shirley Shiner is showing porcelain thrown, carved work and “smoked” pots.
The exihibtion runs unti November 26 and is open from Tuesday to Saturday (10am-5pm).
