THE recent Queen’s birthday garden party held at Farnham Sixth Form College was a great success, as recently reported in the Farnham Herald.

The event was not only an opportunity for former students of the Farnham Grammar Schools to meet again but to raise money for Disability Challengers.

The event was presented by a combination of the Old Farnhamians’ Association, Old Girl’s Grammar School Association, Farnham Educational Foundation and Farnham Sixth Form College.

Once all the finances had been finalised it resulted in a cheque for £1,200, and Rhiannon Hopkins, fund–raising officer for the Challengers visited the college to receive this much- needed donation.

The event was made possible by the efforts of a group of students from the college who volunteered to help on the day.

Cyril Trust chairman of the organising committee, said: “It was a pleasure to see these volunteer students give up their time and work so hard, to make the event a success.”

Each student involved was presented with a certificate from Disability Challengers acknowledging their help, plus an orange t-shirt worn on the day.

The old boys were represented by Cyril Trust, the old girls represented by chairman Patricia Atkinson and Farnham Sixth Form College by director Dr Jason Jones.
