THERE was a Champagne opening at the newly refurbished Greatham Village Hall on Friday night, when county councillor for Greatham Vaughan Clarke cut a red ribbon across the entrance.

The £120,000 refurbishment has transformed the hall, with better lighting; heating; a more spacious lobby; state-of-the-art toilets, including a new disabled one; a bigger meeting room, and an extended kitchen.
