FOR the third consecutive year the Black Down and Hindhead Supporters of the National Trust and Haslemere Borders Athletic Club are organising the Punch Bowl Challenges.

There will be series of races for five different age categories for children as well as the 10k run for seniors on October 2.

Last year more than 300 competitors took part and an equal number of spectators.

There will be a 10k run for over 16s, a 5k run for seniors and juniors aged 12 and over, a 2.5k event for juniors aged nine to 11, a 1k run for six to eight-year-olds plus a free-to-enter 50m dash for the under sixes.

Entries for runners affiliated to running clubs and any unaffiliated entrants are cheaper if paid for in advance. The fees are £12 in advance for running club members and £14 on the day, and £14 and £16 respectively for members of the public for the 10k.

The 5k costs £5 or £6 for club runners and £6 and £7 for the rest while the junior races are £4 in advance and £5 on the day.
