EAST Hampshire Leisure Learning’s tai chi tutor will celebrate World Tai Chi and Qigong Day this month with a free open session in the peaceful surroundings of Alton Public Gardens.
The tai chi session run by Sue Kelly is open to people of all ages and will be held on Saturday, April 22, from 10am-11am.
Sue said: “Even if you have never done tai chi before and are interested in having a go, please join us!”
World Tai Chi Day began in 1999 to introduce people to the many benefits of learning tai chi or qigong, such as improving health and wellbeing, aiding balance, co-ordination and mobility and relieving stress, as well as long-term health conditions and the ability to lift your mood.
Tai chi and qigong can be done either standing or seated, so is an ideal form of exercise for those with all degrees of mobility.
There will also be opportunities to find out more about the classes Sue runs as part of the East Hampshire Leisure Learning programme, administered by Alton Community Centre.
