ROAD closures will be in place across Farnham town centre this Sunday as thousands of cyclists descend on the town for the Farnham Charity Bike Ride and Festival of Cycling.

As in previous years Castle Street will be closed from Park Lane to The Borough from 6am to 4pm to facilitate the Charity Bike Ride. At 4pm the northbound lane will reopen to allow traffic from The Borough up towards Folly Hill, while the southbound lane will remain closed until 8pm.

However, for the first time, from 5pm to 8pm much of the one way system will also be closed for the inaugural town centre races as part of the Maltings’ Festival of Cycling. This includes The Borough, South Street, Victoria Road and Downing Street.

Union Road, West Street and Crondall Lane are unaffected by road closures but, like other roads across the town, they are expected to be busier with cyclists than normal, especially between 8am and 9.30am.
