TWO charity events have helped raise valuable funds for Farnham Foodbank.
The first was an “energetic and fun” FitSteps dance class attended by young and old alike, hosted by experienced dance instructor Kate Shaw from Surrey Dance Fitness.
The second event was an afternoon tea party, held on July 14 in the gardens and gallery room behind Farnham Museum.
Donations were received from a variety of local businesses and artist Emily Feaver donated one of her postcard books and exhibited some of her work.
Everyone tucked into homemade cakes whilst the Wimbledon tennis women’s final was shown on a big screen. Some of the England vs Belgium World Cup third place play-off was also shown - much to the delight of a Belgian visitor, but less so to the England supporters present.
Both events raised a grand total of £1,000 - to be used to host a children’s Christmas party and to buy presents for local children whose family’s, through no fault of their own, experience tough times.
