BLUE Cross pet charity in Haslemere is appealing to local animal lovers to donate their first new £5 note to help pets in need.

Anyone in possession of one of the new polymer notes, who wants to get involved in the charity’s #FirstFiver campaign can drop it in to the Blue Cross charity shop in Petworth Road, Haslemere.

Donations of £5 can also be made by texting FIRSTFIVER to 70660 or by visiting www.bluecross. org.uk/firstfiver.

The charity is also asking people to share a photo of their pet with #FirstFiver as they donate.
