LASHAM Gliding Society's fourth annual charity run is expected to have raised more than £1,000 for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.
According to event organiser Marjorie Hobby, the run attracted 71 runners and walkers for the four-kilometre fundraiser at Lasham airfield.
Mrs Hobby said: "There were three winners - as they decided to cross the line together - which seemed a nice gesture to start the New Year."
The fastest walker was Mike Evans, who completed the route despite having undergone a triple heart bypass operation in August.
A handsome £615 was raised on the day with the rest to come in sponsorship.
Mrs Hobby added: "Everyone was delighted when the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance made an appearance over the airfield towards the end of the run!"
