AN appeal for help by Surrey Police to track down a man wanted in connection with five incidents of criminal damage at a Haslemere charity shop has won results.

Disability charity Scope’s High Street shop has had its windows repeatedly smashed since September 2019.

Following an attack overnight on October 1, assistant manager Josef Magill said: “We had a rock through the window and our door was spray painted overnight on September 26.

“It’s a bit weird. There was no attempt to get in, it seemed completely pointless.

“Our customers have been very supportive.”

The shop is open for business, but currently boarded up awaiting repairs following the latest attack.

Waverley Beat posted CCTV images of a man wanted in connection with the incidents and an appeal for help on its Facebook page on February 5, which was widely shared.

Two days later, PC Will Davies posted: “Massive thank you to everyone that shared my previous post. I’ve today interviewed a suspect.”
