FORMAL plans have arrived for the £2.9m redevelopment of Bordon's Chase Community Hospital, but with them comes news of early delays for the scheme.

A planning application has been submitted to East Hampshire District Council by NHS Property Services, which owns the site, on behalf of the NHS South East Hampshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) - the GP-led organisation responsible for planning local health services.

The NHS is not required to submit plans for the internal redevelopment of the site in Conde Way - work which will account for most of the £2.9m earmarked for the scheme.

It has, however, submitted an application for extra spaces in the car park and for a dedicated entrance to the GP surgery, or surgeries, which will be moving into the hospital.

But the year-long work programme might now not be completed by April 2015 as the CCG had originally hoped.
