Fears of staff redundancies at the Community Health Council (CHC) for North Hampshire have been allayed after its workers were told that they would be given new jobs within the NHS.

The redundancy fears arose after the government announced that it would be abolishing the CHCs, which act as a watchdog for patients in the Bordon and Alton area, as part of its national ten-year plan to provide an NHS "fit for the 21st century".
