MEMBERS and supporters of Farnham School of Tae Kwon Do roundeded off a successful 2013 with their annual awards evening.

The club enjoyed another year of growth as well as success at various national and regional tournaments.

Many members were awarded for their achievements and advancement in the Korean martial art. The Student of The Year Award was presented to Nick Nawrattel, while Bella Riley was recognised as Most Improved Student of The Year. Amber Wilson, 14, was presented with two awards; the sparring award and Competitor of The Year. Amber was also presented with a certificate for having competed in the most tournaments in 2013, as was eight year old William Houghton.

Ten-year-old Max Todd was awarded Best New Student and there were further awards presented to Daisy Johnson for patterns, Sara Maitland for theory, along with Klaudia Iwan for courtesy.

Arun Tote was awarded for his effort, Xavier Poulson for perseverance and William Houghton for dedication. Nine-year-old Sophia Record was awarded for her indomitable spirit.

Six youngsters were also selected to the team of Special Role Models. They were Archie Riley, Bella Riley, Josh Riley, Daisy Johnson, William Houghton and Freddie Whitehair.

After a short break for Christmas, the martial artists are back in training and several of them are now preparing for the first tournament of the year, the GTI English Championships.
