THE presents have been unwrapped and the Christmas trees have come down in homes across East Hampshire.

But a travelling farm has ensured that children in Liss will long remember the story of Christmas well beyond Twelfth Night.

Staff at the Mill Farm Cottage Experience introduced a menagerie of animals to the Open Door parent and toddler group last month.

Group co-manager Bridget Wilkie said the donkey, guinea pigs and dogs were popular with children at the Triangle Centre gathering.

She said: "We wanted to present the Nativity story to children in a hands-on way. The kids absolutely adored it and it was brilliant fun."

She added that a trustee of the group, which is supported by the HOPE Church in Greatham, arranged for the Holybourne farm to visit.
