THE long wait for playtime is finally over in a village west of Petersfield, thanks to the perseverance of residents and councillors. Keaira Phillips got an early birthday present last Saturday when she cut the ribbon on a new set of swings in Langrish. The unveiling off Reeds Meadow was the highlight of a barbecue and party to mark the long-awaited arrival of play equipment on the community patch. Village youngsters have been deprived of play equipment for decades but elders are hopeful that more facilities will follow the swings. A £2,700 grant from East Hampshire District Council covered more than half the cost with the remainder coming from the Langrish Parish Council and the Friends of Langrish and Ramsdean.
