ALTON is getting ready to ‘rock’ 2017 with the nation’s favourite and original contemporary choir.

National phenomenon Rock Choir has announced that, due to popular demand, it is opening an additional Wednesday morning rehearsal in Alton and is inviting people to come along for a free taster session.

Rock Choir’s uplifting ethos of fun, friendship and community spirit is a huge part of its attraction. On an individual level, it helps improve people’s self-confidence, enables them to develop new singing skills, and enjoy a dynamic new social life.

Singing together and achieving such a great sound gives members a huge sense of fulfilment.

Added to this is the glamour and the excitement of performing in public, which for many singers is a truly liberating experience.

Rock Choir leader Danny Gortler, who is also running sessions in Camberley, Petersfield and Windsor, is excited to be bringing Rock Choir morning rehearsals to Alton.

He said: “I can’t wait to meet all the new members and get them singing some really great songs. Rock Choir’s ethos is very much about local people singing in their local communities and supporting local causes.”

Weekly rehearsals will start next Wednesday (January 18) at 10.30am until 12pm at the Alton House Hotel, on Normandy Street.

Rock Choir is the UK’s largest contemporary choir, with more than 25,000 members in more than 340 local communities.

There are no auditions and no requirements to read music or have any previous singing experience.

Rock Choir members get together each week to attend fun, friendly rehearsals where they are taught specially arranged pop and chart songs.

There are lots of exciting performances throughout the year and many of them help raise money for charity.
