IN recent years Hart Male Voice Choir has been delighted to accept invitations from the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice team to sing at the Salesian College concerts, which are always enjoyable and hugely successful fundraising events.

This year was no exception. On Friday, September 25, Hart MVC once again performed to a packed assembly hall at the Salesian College supported by impressive performances from Farnborough Hill Senior School and the Salesian College Schola Choir with superb soloist tenor Tristan Semon-Ward.

Hart MVC deputy musical director Dai Ogborn stepped in at the last minute for Margaret Brackenborough who was indisposed. Dai lead the choir through a splendid mix of traditional classic male voice choir anthems together with some rousing and popular songs from west-end musicals.

The capacity audience responded with great enthusiasm which helped to create a wonderfully warm atmosphere, with smiles of enjoyment all around.

The Phyllis Tuckwell organising team were pleased to report that the superb event, sponsored by A&W Goddard Ltd and Ford Mears & Partners raised more than £3,800 for this popular local charity.

Compliments on the quality of the concert performances and messages of appreciation have been sent to all the choirs and their support teams.
