FARNHAM ASSIST has received a cheque for more than £900 following a Christmas concert given by Voices Together Community Choir and Basingstoke Hospital Male Voice Choir.
The concert, conducted by David Ogborn, took place at St Thomas-on-the Bourne Church in December to a full audience who gave generously to charity. The choirs were really pleased to be supporting such a worthwhile organisation that supports older people living in Farnham.
Mike Hutchings, chairman of Farnham ASSIST, gave a short address to the choir, thanking them for their tremendous support of Farnham ASSIST in this way. He went on to say how donations like this help to insure the valuable work of Farnham ASSIST is able to continue.
Farnham ASSIST offers a wide range of events and actives for older people living in Farnham, from weekend roast lunches to a pie and pint club, knit ‘n’ natter and one off events like an afternoon tea to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.
The charity will hold a taster day on Wednesday, April 27, at The Vineyard Centre, Union Road from 10.30am onwards for anyone wanting to find out more about what Farnham ASSIST does.
