CHORISTERS from Froxfield and Petersfield will join forces this summer for an annual concert.

The two choirs will sing together for the first time at the summer summer concert at Holy Trinity Church in Privett on June 11.

The programme includes Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir and Buxtehude’s Magnificat which, along with Purcell’s Hail Bright Cecilia and Bach’s Komm Jesu, Komm, will be sung by both choirs.

Each choir will also perform one work alone, Froxfield singing Rachmaninov’s sublime Bogoroditsye Dyevo (Ave Maria) and their Petersfield counterparts Britten’s Hymn to St Cecilia.

A Petersfield Choir spokesman said: “It promises to be a magical concert, perfect for a summer evening. As always, there will be a bar outside the church both before the concert and during the interval.”

The concert is expected to start at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available from One Tree Books on Lavant Steet, Petersfield, and ticket sales will this year support Naomi House & Jacksplace hospices for children and young adults.
