CHRISTMAS came early on Tuesday, November 21, as Phyllis Tuckwell kicked off the festive season with its popular Christmas fayre, held at The Aldridge Theatre at Frensham Heights school.

The event was a great community affair, with support coming from many local individuals, groups and businesses.

Frensham Heights school kindly donated the use of its theatre, while The Hedgehogs helped with the parking, Rowledge butcher Michael Humphries donated a turkey for the raffle, and Farnham Rock Choir sang from the balcony as shoppers perused the wide variety of stalls.

Many local businesses came along to sell their products, with a percentage of the profits going to Phyllis Tuckwell, and a range of delicious cakes enticed everyone to the refreshments stall.

And if you had a guess but still haven’t heard the result – the bear on the ‘guess the name of the teddy’ stall was called Glitter.

“We would like to thank everyone who came along to our Christmas fayre,” said Leanne Magee, community fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.

“The day raised a fabulous £4,000, which is enough to fund over a month’s worth of physiotherapy sessions from one of our professional physiotherapists, improving patients’ quality of life and helping them to remain as independent at possible at every stage of their illness.”
