HASLEMERE'S Christmas lights fund is to receive a welcome £7,500 boost this year, thanks to a one-off grant from Haslemere Town Council.
Members agreed last week to contribute a £5,000 capital grant, as well as a revenue grant of £2,500 already included in this year's budget, towards the cost of upgrading the light fittings.
However, a condition of the grant is that after this year, the town council will no longer supply revenue funding on an annual basis towards the lights.
