Beavers, Cubs and Scouts delivered more than 2,000 Christmas cards to addresses in 130 different roads in Liphook, in December – plus homes as far afield as Bramshott, Conford, Passfield and Fernhurst – making it the widest-ever coverage for their special Christmas post.

Seven different stamp designs were in circulation and children between the ages of six and 14 posted Christmas cards with the help of their parents.

Scouts leader Mark Boosey told The Herald: “Our Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were really keen and did a great job of delivering everyone their cards.

“We would like to thank all those who used the service, as well as the shops that hosted our letter boxes again this year.”

They also raised more than £500.
