THE Farnham Christmas Tree Festival will make a triumphant return at St Andrew’s Parish Church this December - looking to build on the break-out success of its first outing in 2015.
This year’s festival, taking place from December 6 to 10, will feature a bumper display of more than 100 trees, lovingly decorated by schools, businesses, churches, charities and families across the area.
It is the second time Farnham’s parish church has hosted the event, coming after more than 3,000 visitors flocked to the inaugural festival in 2015 when around 80 trees were exhibited.
Entrance is free and there will be a full programme of live music throughout, kicked off each day by the Rector of Farnham, Reverend David Uffindell on the piano at 10am, culminating in a special service with the Bishop of Dorking Jo Bailey Wells at 10am on Sunday, November 10.
Rev Uffindell, who is also busy designing a tree with his family, said: “I am very excited about the upcoming Christmas Tree Festival at St Andrew’s.
“Over 100 individuals from local businesses, schools, charity groups and families are preparing to partner with us by decorating a tree in their own particular style.
“We are very grateful to them all for taking part, for their imagination and for their creativity. This is a huge community event - we anticipate over 3,000 visitors during the week.
“We look forward to welcoming them all and to offering generous hospitality, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Light of the World, this year.”
The festival will open its doors to the public from 10am to 5pm Wednesday, December 6, to Saturday, December 9, and from noon to 5pm on Sunday, November 10. Refreshments will also be available.
