AS part of the celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of All Saints Church in Tilford, members are delighted that Stephen Lacey, a respected local organist, has kindly agreed to give an organ recital on the church’s recently refurbished organ.

For 150 years All Saints Church has served the community of Tilford - this anniversary is an opportunity for the church and the village to look forward together as they move through the 21st century.

The village church is open to all within the community to come to celebrate and commemorate the key moments in life.

All are welcome to come to the church’s services to worship God and receive support and friendship. The building is open every day during daylight hours, so individuals may sit in solitude for a quiet time of prayer and reflection.

For the past 150 years the community have valued and supported its local church, practically and financially. This continued support will be essential to preserve the church – both to maintain the fabric of our Victorian building and to continue to serve the village.

To celebrate 150 years, the church is hosting an array of events throughout the year, including a flower festival (June 3 to 4), the village fete (July 8), a photographic exhibition (September 23 to 30), All Saints Festival (October 29), the Christmas Oratorio (November 18) and a Christmas tree festival (December 9).

Church members very much hope that everyone within the community will be able to join them to celebrate this important village milestone, and in so doing ensure that All Saints Church will continue to serve the future generations of Tilford.

The organ recital, with Stephen Lacey, is due to take place on Saturday, May 6 from 6.30pm. All proceeds to go to the ongoing maintenance and renovation of the church on Tilford Road.

Tickets, which come at a cost of £12.50 and include wine, soft drinks and canapes, can be purchased from The Village Shop and from Dorthe Quelch at [email protected], or on 01252 782314.
