THE circus will be coming to town next week.

The award-winning John Lawson’s Circus will be making its first visit to Bordon when it visits Jubilee Park, on Mill Chase Road, from tomorrow to Wednesday.

On Monday, the show takes place at 7pm; on Tuesday at 4.30pm and 7.30pm, and on Wednesday at 4.30pm.

All seats costs £9, except on Monday when they are £7.

John Lawson’s Circus has been entertaining towns and villages across England and Wales for more than 40 years.

Founded in 1974 by ringmaster ’Captain’ John Lawson, it was originally titled John Lawson’s Circus De Reszke.

After five years of appearing at outdoor events all over the country, Captain John bought a small second-hand “flower show” marquee and, with one Bedford lorry, began touring the country, with the first playing field venue being Hadlow in Kent in 1980.

Since then, Mr Lawson said, it has grown both in size and reputation to its current position.
