CITIZENS Advice East Hampshire is looking for volunteers to join its team in Alton.

The organisation needs people who want to do something within the community that is fulfilling and helps other people.

It is looking for new trainee advisers and administrators to support the service in giving advice to the public on a range of issues. Volunteers will be given training and participate in self and group learning as part of a nationally accredited training programme.

Volunteers must be able to commit to a regular amount of time each week and have patience, enjoy working with people, and be comfortable using e-mail, IT and telephones. The work covers subjects such as employment, debt, consumer and legal advice.

“There is a great sense of satisfaction knowing that you have helped someone with a problem that may have been causing them sleepless nights,” said Jackie, a volunteer for 14 years.

Anyone interested can call into Citizens Advice, on the Market Square, to observe the team in action. E-mail Juliet Hawkins at [email protected] to arrange a time by Friday, May 18.
