EAST Hampshire's Community Safety Partnership (CSP) has launched its new three- year plan for stamping out crime and disorder in the district. The CSP is a group of voluntary and statutory bodies that work together to co-ordinate a multi-agency effort against crime, disorder and antisocial behaviour. Every three years the government, via the Home Office, asks local partnerships to review their crime-fighting plans. Over the last few months, East Hants CSP has carried out an extensive audit of its work. The Crime and Disorder Audit 2004 involved making contact with the community of East Hampshire by using techniques such as questionnaires, individual interviews, public meetings residents groups and the media. The new plan shows what the partnership's main priorities will be for the next three years, broken into four categories: environment, community, crime and partnership. Community safety officer for the partnership Sandra Tuddenham said: "The three-year plan ensures that all agencies involved with tackling crime and disorder work together for the communities of East Hampshire. "The plan is assessed and reviewed year-on- year to ascertain success and identify actions, priorities and initiatives as new issues emerge." Superintendent Bob Rose said: "The partnership is clear that it wants to continue a community approach to preventing crime like arson, youth nuisance, graffiti, criminal damage and vehicle crime. "We will also continue to support initiatives that aim to reduce violent crime and domestic abuse in the region and will be working hard to achieve this." Chief executive of East Hampshire District Council, Will Godfrey said: "The launch of this new plan is an important commitment, by many organisations, to show the residents of East Hants that we will all be working hard to stamp out crime. "Everyone must play their part in order to bring together many community projects that will help prevent all kinds of antisocial behaviour." Some of the posts that have been invested in by the East Hampshire Community Safety Partnership over the last three years will continue to be supported. These include domestic abuse co-ordinator, drug education worker and antisocial behaviour co-ordinator.
