THE sun came out and so did the crowds as the gamble to go ahead with Liphook's annual classic car day – despite days of torrential rain leading up to the event – paid off handsomely.

"It has been an outstanding success," Deborah Steel, the new managing director of the pub which is currently undergoing major renovations and extensions.
