MORE than 160 classic and vintage cars turned out in Farnham’s Central car park for the 40th annual Classic Car Show in aid of Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

And the shiny celebrations of yesteryear helped raise more than £1,100 - enough to pay for more than a week’s care from one of the hospice’s specialist nurses.

But the old engines haven’t been switched off just yet.

Still to come for vehicle enthusiasts is the Herald Festival of Transport, which will celebrate its 20th anniversary on June 9 at Upper Hart car park.

And the hospice will be holding a new Classic Motor Show at Waverley Abbey School on August 4, celebrating 40 years of Phyllis Tuckwell with classic and vintage vehicles throughout the ages.
