CLASSIC cars and maybe a taste of what summer has in store were the order of the day at Petersfield’s spring festival over the bank holiday weekend.

Under blue skies, a cavalcade of vintage vehicles made their way along Petersfield High Street having made from their way across the Surrey border from Farnham.

And they were well received as envious onlookers lapped up the motoring marvels on offer as part of the Herald & Post Festival of Transport.

But the cars, which came in all shapes and sizes, formed only part of another successful town festival, which saw thousands of visitors take in a wealth of talent on the music stage in the sun-kissed Square and browse the array of stalls which snaked along the High Street, culminating in a bouncy castle which did a roaring trade – as did the myriad food and drink outlets during the two-day festivities, not least the ice cream van!
