BRAMSHOTT and Liphook Parish Council has made a dangerous corner on the Millennium Green safer for drivers and pedestrians.
Leading a campaign to get large and bulky hedges cut on the corner of Canada Way and Quebec Close, in Liphook, resident Eve Hope – a former chairman of the council – brought the dangerous hazard to the attention of the parish council’s recreation committee back in April.
She pointed out it was impossible to see any oncoming traffic from both directions and there had been several near misses involving vehicles negotiating the corner as well as pedestrians, schoolchildren and dog walkers regularly crossing the road to the green (pictured).
Councillors agreed to get their ground staff along to cut the hedges under the trees to create a clearer view, which has now been carried out.
