Supporters of a canine charity have thanked Farnham shoppers for their generosity after raising £764 outside a town supermarket.

The Guide Dogs for the Blind raised the sum following a “very successful” collection on Lion & Lamb Yard on Saturday, June 14.

Organisers have thanked the town’s “wonderful public” for their support and to the volunteers who made the collection such a success.

A spokesperson for the charity said: “It costs approximately £60,000 to raise and maintain a Guide Dog but the joy and help they bring to blind or partially sighted people is inestimable.

“Guide Dogs also provide Buddy dogs to children with sight problems, books and other aids to help them adjust to life. Thank you to the generous public.”
