PEOPLE are being invited to discover the rare wildlife, hidden treasures and historical tales of Oakhanger’s Shortheath Common at a free family event.
Hosted by Hampshire County Council, in partnership with the Heathlands Reunited Project, the event will take place on Tuesday, May 29, from 11am to 4pm.
Attendees are invited to travel back in time to discover how our ancestors used heaths in the past and to try pole lathing, archery and more.
Visitors can also get involved with the Heathlands Reunited project - a partnership led by the South Downs National Park Authority, which aims to expand, create and improve existing heathland.
