The last Dr Bike event will take place on Saturday, July 12, from 11am to 3pm at Gostrey Meadow. Professional technicians from Hoops Velo bike shop will be on hand to check over bikes free of charge and carry out minor adjustments if needed.
FCC hopes the checks will encourage residents to consider cycling as Downing Street closes for pavement widening works between August and November.
The campaign group has also created a “Give it a Go!” page on its website, featuring tips on where to park your bike, the best low-traffic routes across Farnham, and practical advice to overcome common barriers to cycling.
A spokesperson said: “Volutarily reducing car usage must be the key to 'fixing Farnham's traffic' as the town centre is not going to get any bigger and we have five new housing estates coming, and our shops are already struggling with the congestion.
“The current road works are not holding up the traffic during the daytime, it is the new road layout. And this will persist even after the roadworks to widen the pavements have long gone. “
