A rainy morning did little to dampen spirits as Tilford Village Fete handed over £2,000 to Farnham charity space2grow.

The cheque was presented last week to the award-winning community wellbeing garden, based in the heart of Farnham.

Space2grow supports the wellbeing of people across the local community, with a particular focus on children and families. The £2,000 donation will help fund improvements to the garden this spring.

The charity’s project manager Kate Newton said: “This incredible donation will make a huge impact for our project. We have so many plans for the garden this spring which we will now be able to put in place, making the space more magical for the children who use our services.”

Tilford Village Fete is a popular annual summer event on Tilford Village Green, attracting visitors from across the area.

With the support of sponsors and the wider community, organisers raise funds each year for chosen charities and local projects.

The fete is known for its traditional attractions, themed raft race and evening party with live music.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, July 11.
