FIFTY people aged three to 72 from 10 community groups teamed up with the congregation of St Mark's Church and Farnham mayor Jeremy Ricketts to plant fruit trees in St Mark's Churchyard and create a community orchard on Saturday.
It is hoped the 11 saplings, which include four varieties of dessert apples, three different cooking apples, two pears, a cherry and a quince, will grow into a thriving orchard that will provide residents with an abundance of free fruit.
The project has been funded thanks to a generous donation of £1,000 from the Farnham Institute.
