THE Millstream Community Room in Weybourne has been refurbished thanks to a partnership between Waverley Borough Council, Weybourne Community Church, user groups and tenants.

The refurbishment includes new flooring and painting of the hall. Tenants helped with the clear out, the choice of blinds and furniture. They also framed new artwork for the walls.

The Millstream Community Room is one of several being reviewed by Waverley, with the aim of making them more user friendly and to increase bookings and find new users.

The Millstream works include a new home and a new office/storage area as well as the refurbished community room. The storage area will be leased by Weybourne Church which will also help promote activities in the community room. The flat has already been let.

The Mayor of Waverley, Simon Inchbald, who re-opened the facility on Wednesday, November 22, said: “The community room now provides a much more attractive space for users and it’s great that we have been able to do this as part of a close partnership with the people of Weybourne Church who support our tenants with events and activities.

“We also have the bonus of a new flat and storage space.”
