COMMUTERS rushing to catch a train to work experienced a bit of unexpected excitement on Tuesday when police raided a flat above a charity shop.

They also searched a car parked at the back of the shop and charged a woman with handling stolen goods following a burglary in Hewshott Lane, Liphook, in early December when £4,500 of garden machinery was stolen from a stable block.

Anna Powles, 61, of Sandy Lane, Haslemere, is due before magistrates on February 2.
