AN engineering company from Lincolnshire and its managing director were together fined around £9,000 plus costs for polluting the River Wey with in March this year.

Aquatic life in the river was devastated after Preston Engineering accidentally poured a precipitate of ammonia into a surface drain leading to the Caker Stream while dismantling refrigeration plant on Alton's Mill Lane industrial site.
