AN application for a second heathland golf course at Old Thorns has prompted concerns within the parish.
The land is situated north of Allington Cottage, in Langley Lane, Langley, just over the West Sussex border.
At Monday's extraordinary planning committe meeting, Bramshott and Liphook parish councillors recommended that the application be turned down when East Hampshire District Council discusses it.
Dr John Tough said the site bordered the Shipwrights Way to the north, with a 2,000-year-old Roman road running across it.
He also raised concerns that no consultations with parish councils in Liphook, Milland or Rogate had been made, and recommended objection over the loss of an amenity to dog walkers and the public.
Old Thorns chief executive Ashley Butterfield made a brief presentation, explaining the new course was inspired by the heathland courses within the New Forest where the interests of golfers, commoners, wild animals and the public continue with "mutual respect".
