PETERSFIELD Town Council has been warned to consider carefully the plans to develop 276 houses at Ramshill.
At a meeting of the town councilÕs planning committee on Tuesday night, Brian Dutton said councillors should keep a close eye on the details of the plans.
He told members of the committee to scrutinise aspects of the development such as plans for cycleways, footpaths and other designs.
He said: ÒWe should all be very careful with this application. I have already had people writing to me expressing their concerns.Ó
This week Ramshill resident Richard Shelton-Agar made his objections known with his own comprehensive report on the scheme, which he sent to The Herald.
It outlines his concerns over the application, which include issues such as density of houses, road transport, cycleways, footpaths and services.
The Bryant Homes Ltd application was given a cautious welcome at a recent meeting of town councillors, although they highlighted their concerns over the pressure on schools.
Mr Shelton-Agar said there were many details in the plans which were Òeither completely misleading or unsatisfactoryÓ.
In his report he said the density of homes was too high. He also believes the road entrance and exit is Òhighly dangerous and ill-conceivedÓ.
He said: ÒThe bicycle lane and footpath are dangerous, impractical and fail to alleviate traffic from a major trunk road. The services have not apparently been planned at all.Ó
East Hampshire District Council will discuss the plans at a special meeting with Petersfield town councillors on May 16.
