ANTIQUES worth thousands of pounds were stolen when burglars forced their way into three homes in the area last week. The haul includes clocks and furniture, silverware and ornaments from properties in Petworth Road, Haslemere and Rutton Hill Road in Bowlhead Green. The first was overnight on Wednesday/Thursday, December 5/6, between 11.59pm and 8am at a property in Dorking Road, in Chilworth. The burglars gained access after forcing a ground floor window and helped themselves to a collection of antique clocks and ornaments. The next burglary took place on Thursday, December 6, between 3.30pm and 5.30pm at a house in Rutton Hill Road, in Bowlhead Green near Brook. The intruders broke in by smashing the front door and stole several small porcelain figurines, miniature pictures, an antique chest of drawers and a number of antique clocks. The third happened on Friday, December 7, between 12.20pm and 6.45pm in Petworth Road, Haslemere. The burglars forced entry at the back of the property and took a selection of antique furniture, figurines and silverware.
