ANGRY residents have condemned a decision over a planning application which which could bring polo to a 40-acre site on the outskirts of Haslemere.

Chiddingfold Parish Council agreed to stand by its original decision and not to object to the scheme within the Green Belt – and in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – for the "substantial" private polo facility next to the Lythe Hill Hotel, in Petworth Road.

But in contrast, Haslemere Town Council's planning committee discussed the application and expressed its "many concerns" over its impact on the town.
